Shockwave is one of the most modern Hi-Tech medical devices emitting acoustic waves. The device is used both for physiotherapeutic treatments (tissue dysfunctions) and in aesthetic medicine in the field of body contouring, and its medical form offers excellent effectiveness, confirmed by medical studies. Numerous studies have shown high effectiveness in physiotherapy for patients undergoing liposuction and abdominoplasty as well as for ailments such as heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, jumper's knee, tennis elbow and golfer's elbow.

Shockwave is also known as Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT). The treatment is characterised by a very high and rapidly increasing pressure, which propagates in the tissue at the speed of approx. 1500 m/s. Thanks to the use of acoustic sound waves, this treatment is one of the most effective forms of fighting cellulite as well as localised resistant and compacted fatty tissue which is difficult to remove with other treatments. The shockwave treatment is a non-invasive method for the treatment of chronic ailments of attachments and soft tissues. Additionally, the wave drains accumulated fluids, nourishing the tissues and stimulating the vascular system to proper function. During the treatment, the therapist uses several handpieces and heads appropriately selected for the given problem, while the patient feels the "impact" of the wave, the strength of which will also be appropriately selected for their sensations. Depending on indications, the physiotherapist only performs the drainage and/or the shockwave stage.

The Shockwave treatment consists of 3 stages: 1-lymphatic drainage, 2- appropriate transmitter is selected, with which the actual shockwave treatment is performed, 3- lymphatic drainage is performed again. After the treatment, the Patient can return to daily activities.

The treatment may cause discomfort during the first few days after surgery, in the event of significant swelling and/or bruising at the treatment site, and in the event of dysfunctions that cause pain

reduction of swelling; reduction of pain; improvement of metabolism; increase in collagen production; reduction of muscle tension; dissolution of calcified fibroblasts; improvement of mobility

If Shockwave is performed after plastic surgery procedures, the time of postoperative convalescence will be shortened, swelling and bruising will be reduced and the final aesthetic effect will be better. After performing a series of treatments, the effect will be permanent. In case of dysfunctions, treatments have to be repeated when the pain returns.

Bruising may appear at the treatment site.

As soon as after the first treatment.
